Bonsoir de Paris!!!

Monday March 3, 2008

Yes, I’m in Paris and the days in my life are a continuing soap opera!!! Albeit, always interesting and full of suprises!!!! A quick overview before I lay me down to sleep! Exhausted! It’s almost midnight here…

Was in London briefly and spent a lovely time with friends there….arrived in Paris a week and a day ago and it’s been go go go ever since!!! And I love to go go go, but I dream of a moment of peace and quiet!!! My friend, Lisa (formerly Celeste of the wrestling world) now lives in lovely quiet Barnes, in the Southwest of London…apparently, she just can’t get enough of me (kidding! Contrary to some speculation, we are both very straight and happily so…) and followed me to Paris! In fact, we couldn’t get a booking on the same eurostar so she followed on the one directly behind me. She stayed in the Marais (4th arrondisment) and I am staying in the 6th (left bank) so we had some great nights out in restaurants, together and with some other friends of ours. Because we were quite far apart, I spent a lot of nights walking home alone through the dark streets and across the quiet bridges, looking at Notre Dame and the Tour Eiffel in all their glory, in this exquisite City of Lights, contemplating life and wondering what it’s all about….Maybe in these moments of walking alone is where I do find my “peace and quiet”…

Valentine’s evening consisted of champagne at Le Fumoir (our local tavern next to the Louvre), then dinner at Chez Claude Saint Louis (where I frequently go for dinner and am always welcomed with another coupe de champagne by the owner) with a melange of characters, who I have befriended during my travels. Lisa and I were joined by an American gal who is here teaching English, A Canadian “Jodi Foster” lookalike (also here to live the french life and teach english), our French friend, Francois, who is a professor at the Sorbonne, my animator friend, Tony the Ring (also from London), who had a movie that he had worked on, open in theatres here, last weekend (Max and Co) and my friend, Mitch, who is the director of film festivals all over the world!!! Valentine’s day was special….and, although I am without a lover, it was, from beginning to end, a beautiful day…(Thank you to all who made it special…you know who you are!) Oh and a toast to any of you who can make sense of my long crazy sentences here!!!

Another evening, Lisa and I were out, once again, having dinner very near Place des Vosges, at a very popular little bistrot, Chez Janou. The place is always hopping with an international crowd…Believe it or not, I was recognized, by someone at a table near mine…he did not approach me at the restaurant, but emailed me today, asking if, in fact, it was me having dinner at the table near him…? Small world, eh?

Jump Cut to Los Angeles…Stress Chez Moi! I had 2 friends, (1 an English actress who is living in Los Angeles and the other, the son of my french friend and restaurant owner in Hollywood) who had wanted to rent my 2nd bedroom and take care of my sweet mongrels, Gabriel, Gillies and Gordon, while I was away from home. Another person, we will call him Mr X (who works for a famous rock star who will remain nameless in my diary) pleaded with me to stay in my home, rent the room, take care of the pups, etc etc etc, because I live close to a lot of movie studios and he wanted to explore work in those studios…so I took Mr X up on his offer. (Don’t ask me why! I really don’t know why! I should always follow my gut feeling, but for some reason I am meant to learn the hard way!!!) Anyway, I trusted that Mr X would do as he said he would do…believed he would look after my home and my babies, as he said he would…Funny thing is that his rent money did not come in from his “off shore” accounts before I left for London and then, once I was thousands of miles away from home, he became crazy with text messages and voicemails insulting me, my work, my website….to the point that I became very nervous about having him staying in my home. He was asked to leave, and I was left without the room rented, but that was the least of my worries, since the 3 little pit mixes needed looking after!!!! I called my friend, Simon (the little brother of my Scottish friend, Nikita, who was also a wrestler) and he helped me out enormously, taking a temporary residence back at the ranch and running the kids in the canyon each day…He, along with my wonderful gaybours (that is my own created expression meaning “gay neighbours”), who are always there for me when I need them!!! Thank god for people who are there for you in times of stress. I am lucky to have these friends and to have people all over the world who make my life special…

Last but not least, I finally shot my big scene in the Indie film, I was cast in and will be shooting another when I return to Los Angeles….Trust me, I highly doubt it will make it to the big screen…but hopefully it will get to a straight to video release and you may actually be able to see my great acting debut…But, don’t hold your breath just yet! I’ll keep you posted!

Anyway, I could go on and on and on but it’s after midnight and I think I’ve let enough hang out…I love you all for coming here, reading my diary and sharing in this little piece of my life…

One last thing before I go…I will be at the Wrestling Convention in San Diego in April and I am interested in sponsors for competitive matches, there and in my new ring in Los Angeles…I have also been asked to host a live weekly show that is going to be very exciting and bringing lots of new girls into the ring!!! More about that very soon!!!!

OH! And I’ll be shooting some great new stuff with Steve of Steve’s Wrestling Adventures this coming Friday in Paris!!!

Bisous from Paris et Bon Nuit!!!

Peace and Love,

(A very tired) Robin xxxxx
